Atlanta Gas Light Residential Energy Efficiency (EE) Rebates

RESIDENTIAL WATER HEATER ENERGY EFFICIENCY (EE) REBATE PROGRAM

Terms and Conditions

UPGRADE to .82 or higher UEF Storage Tank Water Heater, Whole House Unit: $200
UPGRADE to .90 or higher TE Condensing Tank Water Heater, Whole House Unit: $200
UPGRADE to .87 or higher UEF Tankless Water Heater, Whole House Unit: $300

Program runs January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2025. Rebate available to new and existing customers (as defined below): rebate applies to a qualifying new high efficiency natural gas water heater purchased from an authorized retailer and installed by a Georgia contractor licensed and certified to install natural gas water heaters. This offer is only valid for existing residential customers who have a current gas account in good standing with a Georgia certified natural gas marketer for whom Atlanta Gas Light Company (“Atlanta Gas Light”)  provides natural gas service (“customer”). A link to the GA Public Service Commission website listing certified natural gas marketers may be found at atlantagaslight.com. Rebate applies to the replacement of an existing natural gas water heater with an existing energy efficiency rating less than .82 Uniform Energy Factor (UEF) with a new appliance of the following: a new natural gas storage tank water heater with an UEF rating that is equal to or greater than .82, a new natural gas condensing tank water heater with a Thermal Efficiency (TE) rating that is equal to or greater than .90, or a new natural gas tankless water heater with an UEF rating that is equal to or greater than .87. Qualified water heaters are whole house units that supply hot water to an entire dwelling. Hybrid water heaters with both a tank and tankless unit are considered one appliance. Rebate value not to exceed the total cost of the natural gas equipment plus the cost of installation. Installation must be completed in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and building codes imposed by federal, state, and local authorities. Online rebate claim must be submitted within 45 days of installation of qualifying product. Supporting documentation must be submitted within 45 days of installation of qualifying product. No exceptions. Customers or HVAC dealers are responsible for submitting the rebate claim directly to Atlanta Gas Light within the timeframe established for the program. There is a limit of one Atlanta Gas Light EE water heater rebate in a ten-year period per service address, and this rebate cannot be combined with any other Atlanta Gas Light offers or incentives. Offer valid for existing customers at residential service addresses in the Atlanta Gas Light service territory that were already using natural gas for water heating. Offer not valid for new construction. Employees of Atlanta Gas Light, dealers and retailers are eligible to participate in this offer so long as they meet all other criteria. Please allow at least eight weeks after your completed claim (including supporting documentation as required per offer) is received for your rebate to be processed. Rebates will be fulfilled via a check paid in U.S. dollars. RESIDENTIAL FURNACE ENERGY EFFICIENCY (EE) REBATE PROGRAM

UPGRADE to 92% to 94.9% AFUE Furnace: $300
UPGRADE to 95% or higher AFUE Furnace: $400

Program runs January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2025. Rebate applies to a qualifying new high efficiency natural gas furnace purchased from an authorized retailer and installed by a Georgia contractor licensed and certified to install natural gas furnaces. This offer is only valid for existing residential customers who have a current gas account in good standing with a Georgia certified natural gas marketer for whom Atlanta Gas Light Company (“Atlanta Gas Light”) provides natural gas service (“customer”) and who are replacing an existing natural gas furnace with an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) rating less than 92% with a new natural gas furnace with an AFUE rating that is equal to or greater than 92%. Dual Fuel Systems do not qualify. A link to the GA Public Service Commission website listing certified natural gas marketers may be found at atlantagaslight.com. Installation must be completed in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and building codes imposed by federal, state, and local authorities. Atlanta Gas Light Commercial Energy Efficiency (EE) Rebates Terms and Conditions

COMMERCIAL WATER HEATER ENERGY EFFICIENCY (EE) REBATE PROGRAM

Terms and Conditions

UPGRADE to .67 or higher TE Storage Tank Water Heater, input capacity <= 75 MBTUH, tank size <=55 gallons: $50
UPGRADE to .88 or higher TE Storage Tank Water Heater, input capacity <= 75 MBTUH: $100
UPGRADE to .90 or higher TE and 200 MBH or less Tankless Water Heater: $1 per MBH

Program runs January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2025. Rebate available to new and existing customers (as defined below): rebate applies to a qualifying new energy efficient natural gas water heater purchased from an authorized retailer and installed by a Georgia contractor licensed and certified to install natural gas water heaters. This offer is only valid for existing commercial customers who have a current gas account on a commercial rate as defined in the Atlanta Gas Light Company (“Atlanta Gas Light”) tariff (“customer”). Account must be in good standing with a Georgia certified natural gas marketer for whom Atlanta Gas Light provides natural gas service. This offer is for replacing an existing natural gas water heater with an energy efficiency rating less than .67 Thermal Efficiency (TE) with one of the following: storage tank water heater with an input capacity <= 75 MBTUH and with a rating that is equal to or greater than .67 TE and with a tank size that is <= 55 gallons, a new natural gas condensing tank water heater with an input capacity >= 75 MBTUH and with a rating that is equal to or greater than .88 TE, a new natural gas tankless water heater 200 MBH or less and with a rating that is equal to or greater than .90 TE. Rebate amount is determined by the input capacity of the natural gas water heater. CONDENSING BOILER ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROGRAM

Program runs January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2025. Rebate available to new and existing customers (as defined below): rebate applies to a qualifying new high efficiency natural gas boiler purchased from an authorized retailer and installed by a Georgia contractor licensed and certified to install natural gas boilers. This offer is only valid for existing commercial customers who have a current gas account on a commercial rate as defined in the Atlanta Gas Light tariff (“customer”). Account must be in good standing with a Georgia certified natural gas marketer for whom Atlanta Gas Light Company (“Atlanta Gas Light”) provides natural gas service. This offer is for replacing an existing natural gas boiler with an energy efficiency rating less than 90% Thermal Efficiency (TE) and an input capacity up to 299 MBH, with a new natural gas condensing boiler with a TE rating greater than 90% and an input capacity in one of the ranges listed above. Qualified condensing boilers must have an outdoor air reset control installed (either integrated or added on the system), unless the supply temperature does not exceed 140 degrees F.  The end-use must be space-heating.  A link to the GA Public Service Commission website listing certified natural gas marketers may be found at atlantagaslight.com. Installation must be completed in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and building codes imposed by federal, state, and local authorities. Frequently Asked Questions

What are Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency rebates?

Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency rebates are available for the replacement of existing natural gas space or water heating equipment with a qualified energy efficient natural gas furnace or water heater.

Energy efficiency furnace rebates include $300 for the installation of a new natural gas furnace with an AFUE efficiency rating of 92% to 94% and $400 for the installation of a new natural gas furnace with an AFUE efficiency rating of 95% or higher. These two rebate offers cannot be combined, and there is a limit of two Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency furnace rebate in a ten-year period per service address

Energy efficiency water heater rebates include $200 for the installation of a new natural gas storage tank water heater with an uniform energy factor (UEF) rating of .82 or higher, $200 for the installation of a new natural gas condensing tank water heater with a thermal efficiency rating of .90 or higher, and $300 for the installation of a new natural gas tankless water heater with an UEF rating of .87 or higher. Energy efficiency rebate funds are limited; these rebates are valid while funds are available.

Who is eligible for Atlanta Gas Light rebates?

Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency rebates apply to qualifying new natural gas furnaces or water heaters installed to replace existing natural gas equipment by a certified Georgia licensed contractor. Energy efficiency rebates are valid for residential service addresses within the Atlanta Gas Light service territory only.

Atlanta Gas Light customers or qualified contractors are eligible to submit rebate applications. Customers at submitted service address must have a new active account or an established account in good standing with Atlanta Gas Light.

What other criteria must be met to qualify for a rebate?

Online submission forms must be completed within 45 days of purchase or installation of qualifying product.

What supporting documentation is required for submission?

An installation invoice from a Georgia certified licensed contractor is the accepted form of supporting documentation. Atlanta Gas Light reserves the right to inspect the premises prior to payment.

Do dual fuel systems qualify for Atlanta Gas Light rebates?

No, dual fuel systems do not qualify.

What is the maximum annual rebate value per service address?

There is a limit of one Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency water heater rebate and a limit of two Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency furnace rebates in a ten-year period per service address. There is a limit of one Atlanta Gas Light rebate per installed appliance.

The maximum annual rebate value per service address for all Atlanta Gas Light residential rebate promotions is $3,000.

Are rebate offers valid for new construction?

Offers are not valid for new construction. Offers are valid for existing customers at residential service addresses in the Atlanta Gas Light service territory that were already using natural gas for space or water heating. 

How long will it take to receive my rebate?

Please allow at least eight weeks after your completed claim (including supporting documentation) is submitted to receive your rebate. An Atlanta Gas Light account must also be active at the submitted service address to receive your rebate.
