What Atlanta Gas Light rebates are available?

Conversion rebates are available for the replacement of propane or electric appliances with new natural gas appliances. Energy Efficiency rebates are available for the replacement of existing natural gas appliances with qualified high efficiency natural gas models. New construction is not eligible for conversion or energy efficiency rebates.

What are Atlanta Gas Light conversion rebates?

Atlanta Gas Light conversion rebates are available for the replacement of propane or electric heating equipment, water heaters, and dryers with qualified new natural gas appliances.

Rebates for residential conversions include: $1,000 for a complete heat pump system conversion, $500 for a heat pump conversion for existing AGL customers, $500 for a propane furnace/heat pump air handler conversion, $500 for a tankless water heater conversion, $400 for a tank style water heater conversion, and $200 for a dryer conversion.

What are Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency rebates?

Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency rebates are available for the replacement of existing natural gas space or water heating equipment with a qualified new energy efficient natural gas furnace or water heater.

Energy efficiency furnace rebates include: $300 for the installation of a new natural gas furnace with an AFUE efficiency rating of 92% to 94% or $400 for the installation of a new natural gas furnace with an AFUE efficiency rating of 95% or higher. These two rebate offers cannot be combined. There is a limit of two Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency furnace rebates in a ten-year period per service address.

Energy efficiency water heater rebates include: $200 for the installation of a new natural gas storage tank water heater with a uniform energy factor (UEF) rating of .82 or higher, $200 for the installation of a new natural gas condensing tank water heater with a TE (thermal efficiency) rating of .90 or higher, or $300 for the installation of a new natural gas tankless water heater with an UEF rating of .87 or higher. Qualified water heaters are whole house units. There is a limit of one Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency water heater rebate in a ten-year period per service address.

Energy efficiency rebate funds are limited; these rebates are valid while funds are available.

Who is eligible for Atlanta Gas Light rebates?

Atlanta Gas Light conversion rebates apply to qualifying new natural gas furnaces, water heaters, and dryers installed to replace existing propane or electric heating systems, water heaters, and dryers by a certified Georgia licensed contractor. If natural gas was historically used at the premise for the appliance for which you are applying for a rebate, an alternative fuel must have been used for that appliance for a minimum duration of 36 months to qualify.

Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency rebates apply to qualifying new natural gas furnaces or water heaters installed to replace existing natural gas equipment by a certified Georgia licensed contractor.

Customers at submitted service address must have an active account in good standing with a natural gas marketer within the Atlanta Gas Light service territory. 

Do dual fuel systems qualify for the rebate?

No, dual fuel systems do not qualify for either conversion or energy efficiency rebates.

What other criteria must be met to qualify for a rebate?

Online submission forms must be completed within 45 days of purchase or installation of qualifying product. 

What supporting documentation is required for submission?

An installation invoice from a Georgia certified licensed contractor is the accepted form of supporting documentation. Atlanta Gas Light reserves the right to inspect the premises prior to payment.

What is the maximum annual rebate value per service address?

The maximum annual Atlanta Gas Light rebate value per residential service address is $3,000.

There is a limit of one Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency water heater rebate and a limit of two Atlanta Gas Light energy efficiency furnace rebates in a ten-year period per service address.

There is a limit of one Atlanta Gas Light rebate per installed appliance. Hybrid water heaters with both a tank and tankless unit are considered one appliance.

Is this rebate offer valid for new construction?

This offer is not valid for new construction. This offer is only valid for pre-existing homes, condominiums, townhouses and apartments located in the Atlanta Gas Light service territory.

How long will it take to receive my rebate?

Please allow at least eight weeks after your completed claim (including supporting documentation) is submitted to receive your rebate. An account with a natural gas marketer within the Atlanta Gas Light service territory must be active at the submitted service address to receive your rebate.
