Atlanta Gas Light provides energy-saving tips and utility scam prevention advice on the 'Thank Me Later Show with Jini' podcast

When you feel supported, you can truly thrive. That’s why Atlanta Gas Light and its charitable foundation are dedicated to supporting financial education programs and initiatives that create pathways to economic mobility in our communities.

Tiffany Callaway Ferrell, Atlanta Gas Light vice president of operations, recently appeared on the “Thank Me Later Show with Jini,” a podcast focused on helping listeners achieve long-term financial mobility and create lasting legacies. During the conversation, she shared valuable energy-saving tips to help listeners stay comfortable in their homes while reducing their energy bills.

Her tips included cleaning the dryer lint trap with every load to maintain operational efficiency and having appliances professionally installed and serviced annually. She also shared vital information about energy assistance programs and resources for those facing financial hardships.

Before discussing how customers can avoid utility scams, she shared insights into her own inspiring career. “I started my career journey with Southern Company as a senior business analyst at Atlanta Gas Light,” said Callaway Ferrell. “Throughout the years, I have had the incredible opportunity to work with talented team members across nearly every aspect of our business. My career path has been fantastic and has really empowered me to understand the heart of our business and work alongside colleagues who are passionate about making a positive impact.”

The company’s commitment to ‘being a citizen where we serve’ fuels its focus on strengthening communities by providing access to life-changing resources. The company was introduced to Jini Thornton (host of Thank Me Later with Jini) through Black Women Will – an Atlanta area nonprofit that helps Black women complete their estate planning to secure their financial legacy.

“Atlanta Gas Light and the Atlanta Gas Light Foundation are proud to support nonprofit organizations that connect our communities with the skills and resources they need to thrive. In many cases wealth is created through savvy financial management or inherited assets passed down to the next generation. The intimidation and low awareness associated with financial literacy can be an insurmountable barrier without the proper support. Organizations like Black Women Will and Thank Me Later create empowered, aware communities ready to manage their financial wellbeing,” said Serena Levy, president of the Atlanta Gas Light Foundation and vice president of Corporate Impact at Southern Company Gas.

Atlanta Gas Light, its employees, and the Atlanta Gas Light Foundation proudly champions nonprofits like Cool Girls, Inc., HOPE Atlanta, YWCA, Girl Scouts and Thank Me Later, Inc., which empower women and girls and provide long-term resources for a brighter tomorrow, starting today.
