Atlanta Gas Light files Integrated Capacity Development Plan with Georgia Public Service Commission

ATLANTA – February 5, 2024 – Atlanta Gas Light submitted its Integrated Capacity Development Plan to the Georgia Public Service Commission on Feb. 1. The document, referred to as the i-CDP, provides insight into the company’s long-range plans for initiatives that will enable it to meet increased demand and deliver superior customer service while continuing to serve the state safely and reliably.

The i-CDP provides the PSC and other stakeholders with a 10-year long-range forecast of interstate, intrastate and distribution capacity asset requirements for Atlanta Gas Light’s system, with a more detailed look at the first three years of the plan. The company files updates to the plan for consideration every three years.

The plan also provides comprehensive programs necessary to operate a safe and reliable natural gas system to meet current and future customer demand.

Other highlights of the filing:

  • The i-CDP also includes System Reinforcement Rider projects necessary to benefit Georgians by strengthening areas of the Atlanta Gas Light system that require more and larger pipes to meet the needs of new and existing customers and to keep pace with Georgia’s growth and economic development.
  • This plan requests an increase in the System Reinforcement Rider to $1.29 per month for residential customers to recover costs related to these projects.
  • If approved, any other rate implications will be determined through Atlanta Gas Light’s annual ratemaking processes.
  • The PSC is expected to vote on the company’s proposal later this summer.
